From 1 October 2026, Romania will introduce TollRo, a distance-based road toll system for goods vehicles with a maximum permissible weight exceeding 3.5 tonnes.
How to pay the TollRo toll?
Initially, payment is available through a route ticket purchased via the official eToll portal. Payment is currently possible by credit card only.
Fuel card providers, toll service providers and petrol stations are not yet able to offer TollRo payment solutions. DKV Mobility is working to make route tickets available, subject to approval by the Romanian authorities.
Vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tonnes and buses can continue purchasing Romanian road vignettes at petrol stations using a DKV card.
