Important for Transport Operators Using Vehicles over 3.5 Tonnes in Slovenia
Starting from 1 November 2025, Slovenia’s road tolling system will introduce an important change: for certain vehicles, road tolls will no longer be determined based on the Euro emission class, but rather on the CO₂ emission class.
The new regulation applies to vehicles with a maximum permissible gross weight of more than 3.5 tonnes, first registered after 1 July 2019.
What do you need to know?
DarsGO OBU users
Vehicles equipped with a DarsGO OBU are automatically assigned to CO₂ emission class 1.
Starting from 1 October 2025, you will be able to request that your vehicle be assigned to a higher CO₂ emission class, from 2 to 5, via the Slovenian road toll operator’s website.
The following documents will be required to determine the correct CO₂ class:
- Certificate of Conformity (COC), issued by the manufacturer;
- Vehicle registration certificate – reverse side.

DKV BOX EUROPE users
If you have already uploaded the required vehicle documents to the DKV portal, no further action is required, provided that the documentation is complete.
If the documents have not been uploaded in full or certain documents are missing, they can easily be added via the DKV portal.
You will need:
- Certificate of Conformity (COC), issued by the manufacturer;
- Vehicle registration certificate – reverse side.
