International Road Transport – What’s Changing in 2026

The year 2026 brings toll increases, new tolling systems, and significant changes for international carriers in Europe.

🚛 Percentage increases in road tolls:

Netherlands – switching to per-kilometer tolling and eliminating the Eurovignette (starting in July 2026).

Austria – average toll increase: +7% (polluting vehicles: +6–9%, zero-emission vehicles: +1–2%).

Czech Republic – tolls up +2.5% on average.

Belgium (Wallonia) – average increase of +1.91% (e.g., for trucks over 32 metric tons: +1.57%).

Poland – road tolls +5.14% on average.

France – road tolls and tunnel fees increased by +0.86% (local examples and increases of +1.9% on certain highways).

Germany – no increases for zero-emission vehicles (exempt until 2031).

Denmark – bridge tolls +1.8% (Oresund) and +1.5% (Storebaelt).

Switzerland – completion of the transition to the 4G system.
